On September 13th, 2015, Liz + Ryan celebrated the upcoming birth of their baby girl at a one of a kind baby shower! The couple was congratulated with 25 of their closest friends and family while enjoying an afternoon in the City Club of Wilmington gardens. Each level of the garden was utilized. The bottom level was reserved for corn hole for the guys, while the second level showed off a lounge area for the ladies. We rented the lounge from Martha My Dear Rentals. The top level of the garden was filled with delicious food and drinks provided by the City Club. We used an antique chest from Martha My Dear for the self-serve bar, including a create-your-own mimosa station. The food varied from pimento cheese sandwiches to spring rolls. Coastal Cupcakes made lots of mini cupcakes for all to enjoy. A close friend, Kristi Fisher, designed the flower arrangements, which decorated the tables. Kristi also brought lots of mismatched china for eating all of the yummy food. Knot Too Shabby Events was hired to set up the baby shower and make sure that all of the guests had a great time throughout the two hour event. Lastly, Party Suppliers provided all the rentals, which included the round tables, chairs, linens and cocktail tables. The mommy to-be could not be happier! We look forward to seeing lots of baby pics! Congratulations Liz + Ryan! We know your baby girl will be very happy! Click on images below to enlarge. Favorite Party Moment: Watching Liz + Ryan enjoy the party with their friends and family. It was the final days before Liz gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and we couldn't have had more perfect weather. My crew and I sat in the green rocking chairs on the porch of the City Club and merely watched all of the fun take place. Their guests were impressed with how nice everything turned out so it was a very proud moment for us! Vendors

On July 5th, 2015, Dick + Peggy Slye celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple and their entire family shared their love and joy for each other on this beautiful sunny day on North Topsail Island. Knot Too Shabby Events was hired to make this day a breeze while the rest of the family enjoyed their wonderful vacation home. There were two rooms of the house utilized for the event. In the dining room, there was a buffet counter for the food and a long table with 25 chairs for all of the family to sit together. The tables were layered with white linens and navy overlays from Shoreline Party Rentals. The table was decorated with floral centerpieces by Flora Verdi and mercury glass candle votives rented from KTSE. Before dinner started, the family had their pictures taken by Purple Monkey Photography. All of the families took photos with their individual families and then as a big group. We think it is such a good idea to hire a professional photographer for rare occasions like this. Thyme Savor Catering prepared a vast array of tremendous food. The buffet consisted of seafood platters as well as kids' meals with chicken tenders and mac & cheese. It is always hard to pass up mac & cheese, even for adults. One of their granddaughters prepared a slideshow presentation for them, which they watched during dinner. She recreated their lifetime of love using pictures and videos from the day her grandparents met to the present. It was extremely heartfelt and it even made some of us tear up. After dinner, the guests went into another oceanfront room for dessert and dancing. Active DJ Entertainment had guests of all ages up and dancing with smiles on their faces. Watching Dick +Peggy interact with each other was such a wonderful experience within itself. This was such an enjoyable day and we were so happy to be a part of it. Their love has lasted 50 years and every day is a new journey in which they take together. Your undying love is truly admirable. We wish you many more years of love and happiness, congratulations! Dick + Peggy had no idea what she had been working on for months. It was really sweet to watch their granddaughter narrate through each slide and show many family photos that had not been seen in years. Some family members were seeing these photos for the first time too. This moment just reminded me how bless I am to have such a big, loving family as well! Vendors

If you haven't had the pleasure of eating one of Tammy's pies, cake pops, banana pudding cups, cake or cookies, then you need to get out more! Tammy's personality is sweeter than the best cakes! Everyone who meets her wants to be more like her. Tammy is a fellow wedding vendor and friend so when she approached me about planning her 40th birthday party, I was more than enthused. Tammy wanted to have a fun party with about 90 of her closest friends and family members to celebrate her 40th birthday. Then, she threw me a twist. She wanted to surprise everyone in attendance and renew her vows to her equally sweet husband, Eric. So, we got to planning and this is what we did. Tammy hired her fellow photographer friend, Kelly with Anchored in Love, to take photos and baker assistant, Staci, to make lots and lots of desserts for this 1940's Old Hollywood glam themed party. We enlisted in ETC Party Rentals for additional tables, linens and plate ware. I loved the black and white damask print we chose to use on the tables. Bella Florals by Theresa made pretty white and green centerpieces and even incorporated one of my favorite elements - cotton! A Boxed Event designed the perfect Old Hollywood lounge complete with a photo booth from DJ Professionals + Video. As guests started to arrive to the party, they enjoyed sipping on coffee from the coffee bar provided by AM Coffee Bar and lots of delicious food from Middle of the Island. Tammy arrived through a red carpet entrance with her family in the fashionable British Taxi. They were introduced to the party by DJ Professionals and we all sang her "Happy Birthday". What happened next was completely unexpected. Tammy changed into a cute, white cocktail dress and came out as "At Last" by Etta James played over the speakers. The dress was custom made from her from Camille's of Wilmington! Everyone was on the dance floor with husband Eric front and center. Their pastor from Northside Church was also in the middle ready to surprise everyone with their vow renewal. Everyone stood around enjoying this special moment as Tammy + Eric experienced the wedding celebration they never got to have with everyone that mattered most to them. After they renewed their vows, it was back to dancing and eating more sweet treats. At the end of the party, The British Taxi took home our special cargo and we left with memories for a lifetime. It meant so much to me to be a special part of this day for Tammy and her family. I continue to work with Tammy during "wedding season" but it's always nice to see her outside of work too. And like I said in the beginning, if you haven't tried any of Tammy's made-with-love desserts, do so now! Click on the images below to enlarge. Favorite Party Moment: The surprise, of course! Since I as a little kid, I've always enjoyed planning surprise parties. I think it started in 5th grade when we surprised our teacher with almost 5 surprise parties that year. We threw one on her birthday, holidays and the last day of school. We even got the principal to call her up to the office so we could set everything up. I have planned surprise parties for many friends and even a surprise wedding in October 2014. I recently found a list of things I want to do before I'm 30 written at the age of 13. Two of the items on the list were to throw a surprise party for someone and to have a surprise party for me. Soo...I'm still waiting on someone to throw a surprise party for me but I like throwing them for now ;) Vendors
