Hannah + Jeff are a hilarious, outgoing, fun and loving couple! They never ceased to make us laugh and we were so thankful we got to work with them for their big day one year ago (yesterday). Hannah spent the morning getting pampered with her ladies by Anna Lee and Amy Kennison at the gorgeous Belle Vue in historic downtown Wilmington, NC. Once everyone was dressed and ready, they headed across the Cape Fear River to tie the knot on the USS North Carolina Battleship on Sunday, September 4, 2016. The sun was shining and the breeze from the water was magical. The ceremony took place in front of the plane on the fantail of the boat. The ship includes the white chairs for ceremony seating and we added large and small lanterns at every other aisle. We hung mason jars with hydrangeas on every other chair on the aisle too. When guests arrived, they were greeted by the handsome groomsmen and encouraged to sign the wooden pallet guestbook. They had handkerchiefs in a vintage suit case for all of the guests to take for their happy tears. Dockside Strings played music as guests entered. The ceremony was short, sweet, and filled with lots of little laughs. MOD Wedding Films was able to get drone shots of the wedding and a beautiful wedding video you can see below! Following their ceremony, guests headed to the reception at Bakery 105, also located in the beautiful downtown Wilmington. Cocktail hour was outside in the courtyard. There were cocktail tables with beige linens for guests to set their food and drinks on. The escort table was set by the entrance doors for guests to find their table assignment once they moved inside. The reception space was set with round tables with khaki linens. The mismatched centerpieces were done by the mother of the bride with bird cages, vintage books, clocks and flowers in milk vases. Each table had three silver candle votives and glittery silver table numbers. Their sweet heart table had J+H marquee letters, champagne glasses and a beautiful pink rose centerpiece. After Hannah + Jeff took photos with their wedding party, Platinum Limo dropped them off at Bakery 105. Absolute Best DJ was then ready for introductions. Hannah + Jeff were introduced for the first time as husband and wife and everyone went wild! After introductions, Hannah + Jeff had their first dance. They started off their dance with "Into the Mystic" and about half way through, they switched to a High School Musical III song. Everyone laughed and cheered, but no one was surprised with these two! Hannah then shared a dance with her father and Jeff shared a dance with his mother. Bakery 105 put together a delicious buffet. Following dinner, Hannah's maid of honor (and sister) and Jeff's best man gave toasts. Since Hannah + Jeff were such a fun and goofy couple, you can bet their toasts were nothing short of that. After everyone had wiped their tears from laughter, Hannah + Jeff cut their gorgeous three-tier cake from Creative Cake Design by Tammy Hodge! It was now time for open dancing - their favorite part! The dance floor was full of people dancing and signing to the music. The photo booth was open and the party was on! They had dance offs for almost two hours. We still aren't sure who won the dance off. It was a fun and happy night for all! Congrats Hannah + Jeff! We hope you had an amazing 1 year anniversary! We have no doubt your first year (and every year to come) was full of jokes, happy days, and sarcastic comments. We love you!! MOD Wedding Films Click on images below to enlarge. Favorite Wedding Moment: Their first dance - it was goofy and fun, a true reflection of their relationship. Often, couples take their first dance so serious that they forget to enjoy it and have fun. Hannah and Jeff danced around the room like no one was watching and it was refreshing to see! Vendors

Amanda + Drew said "I do" one year ago today on September 2, 2016 at Brooklyn Arts Center in historic downtown Wilmington, NC. However, we had one uninvited guest - a tropical storm. Have no fear though, we had an amazing plan B for a reception-style ceremony. Amanda spent the morning getting pampered with her ladies. They started by getting their hair done at Harbour Club Day Spa and then transitioned to the Brooklyn Arts Center bridal manse for makeup with Amy Kennison. While Amanda and her ladies were getting ready, we set up the church! We were able to still have a few rows of cross back chairs on each side of the aisle for immediate family while the remaining guests sat in their chairs at farm tables facing the stage. The church was filled with different types of greenery and floral blooms in bud vases. There were burlap-wrapped plants lining the stairs and aisle. A large wooden cross was centered on the stage decorated with loose greenery, white roses, and white hydrangeas. Raindrops tapped the windows, Edison lights hung from above from Wilmington Uplighting, and the lush greenery set a romantic and calming mood. As guests entered the church, candles were lit, tables were set, Active DJ had great music playing, the Knot Too Shabby Events team was greeting guests and the groomsmen were ushering guests. Once all of the guests arrived, we started the processional. Amanda + Drew were like something out of a story book. Even though they had shared a beautiful first look before the ceremony, his face light up when he saw Amanda walk down the aisle. Her stunning dress and gorgeous curly locks had everyone speechless as she walked down the aisle. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed Middle of the Island's cheese and fruit display and sipped on beer, wine, and champagne from the bar. Nine Thirty Creative used the balcony to take photos of Amanda + Drew. The rainy backdrop did not disappoint! Once cocktail hour ended, Drew gave a welcome/thank you to all of their guests. Middle of the Island then opened the buffet for the wedding party and guests. After dinner, toasts were given and dancing began. Amanda + Drew kicked off dancing with their first dance to "The Shape of Us" by Ian Britt. Amanda shared a dance with her father and then Drew and his mother joined in half way through the song! Following parent dances, they shared a good luck dance with their guests and continued to dance the night away! Happy One Year Anniversary Amanda + Drew! We wish you many, many more years of celebrations! Hope you have a rain-free anniversary but maybe a little rain wouldn't be so bad after all! Click on images below to enlarge. Favorite Wedding Moment: Seeing Amanda for the first time the morning of the wedding day once she realized she wouldn't be able to have the ceremony outside like she once hoped. She was disappointed but she wasn't going to let this ruin her spirit. She was calm and relaxed over the whole thing. I listened to her concerns and assured her that everything was going to work out and made it my mission to give her and Drew the best wedding day possible. And that we did, so it was a great moment! Sometimes, we have to have tough conversations with our clients and my heart hurt for her but I knew we had a great backup plan. Vendors
