Meagan + Artan Fana said "I do" on Saturday, May 21, 2016 with the most beautiful view! The ceremony took place at the pergola in Airlie Gardens with a tented reception in the lawn by the big oak tree. Meagan + Artan rented a stunning "Nantucket Tent" from Party Suppliers with Edison lights and a crystal chandelier from High Performance Lighting. It couldn't have been more dreamy. The weather was calling for 90% chance of rain all week and then once Saturday came, there wasn't a sign of rain anywhere to be found! The day turned out to be absolutely perfect. Meagan + Artan stood at the altar as all of their family and friends gathered to see the couple of 10 years finally wed. Then, all of the guests walked to the lawn for cocktail hour. One of our favorite things during cocktail hour was the olive oil and balsamic station with assorted breads that sat on top of two wine barrels. Culinary Creations also had servers passing hors d'oeuvres while guests mingled around the cocktail tables and lounge furniture. The reception was decorated with an array of round and rectangular tables with majestic white linens. Each place setting had a white plate with a silver rim, an aqua napkin, menu card and a jar of honey (also used as escort cards). The tables were dressed with pieces of aqua and lavender sea glass, candle votives, and beautiful floral arrangements of hydrangeas and calla lilies. The bridal party cruised in on golf carts for introductions. Then, Meagan + Artan shared their first dance to "Sky Full of Stars" by Coldplay. After, a three course meal was served family style to each table. The Maid of Honor and Best Man then gave toasts to the beautiful newlyweds. Meagan + Artan cut their four-tier naked cake from One Belle Bakery. Following the cake cutting, Meagan and her father, Charles, shared the father daughter dance and then Artan and his mother, Feggi, shared a special dance together. Artan and his family are from Kosovo so it wouldn't be a wedding without starting off with a dance floor full of people in a traditional Albanian dance! The rest of the night was spent with lots of laughs, drinks and dancing. They even pulled Melissa out onto the dance floor! To conclude the night, Meagan + Artan did a glowstick send off under the big oak tree with Spanish moss overflowing everywhere making for the perfect backdrop! They have been the light of each other's lives for 10 years and now they will glow together forever. Congrats Meagan + Artan! We had such a wonderful time working with you two amazing people! Meagan's WeddingWire Review: "Melissa Burton and Knot Too Shabby Events (KTSE) are TOP notch to say the LEAST!! If it were not for Melissa and KTSE, my wedding would NOT have been possible!!!! My husband and I got married at Airlie Gardens and the venue required we hire a day of wedding coordinator for our wedding. I did some research online for wedding/event coordinators and came upon KTSE. I was IMMEDIATELY impressed with her website and creative business name and I reached out regarding availability for services for our wedding day. NOT even 4 hours later, I had a response in my inbox from Melissa herself! We set up a sit down meeting and she had me asked me to fill out a details sheet online document about my wedding (set up, wedding style, vendors, etc) prior to our meeting which was extremely thorough. At our sit down meeting, I was impressed-- yet again-- with her professionalism, organization, and attention to detail. She had reviewed my detail sheet and was very informed on what I was looking for in our wedding and also what we were looking for in a coordinator. Melissa explained the services included in her "month of" package, which was PERFECT for us and extremely helpful because the 30 days prior to your wedding is CRAZY and every couple needs help-- whether you believe it or not! The contract logistics and payment process with them was definitely one of the easiest out of all of our 12 wedding vendors! During the time leading up to the wedding, Melissa was ALWAYS responsive and helpful. If I needed anything she was ALWAYS there and always SUPER quick to respond! Our rehearsal and wedding day went of without a hitch! We had a TON of moving parts for our wedding and Melissa and her team made the process SEAMLESS!! Her organization and communication was ALWAYS way above par!! If you are a bride, groom, or couple who thinks they can do it all...guess what-- you can't! Stop what you are doing right now and contact KTSE-- you will be SO glad you did!!" Click on images below to enlarge. Favorite Wedding Moment: Watching Meagan + Artan dance with their family to a special Albanian song at the start of open dancing. It was so sweet seeing everyone cheering and dancing along in a circle. We love working with different types of people and different cultures. It's nice to see something out of the ordinary and something held so dear to their hearts. Vendors

Sara + Samantha were our first same sex wedding and we were so honored to work with two such amazing, hilarious and badass women! They were such a hoot. We absolutely loved getting to know these kind souls. After months of planning, Sara + Sam's big day finally came in mid-May. They spent the morning getting ready in separate rooms at the downtown Courtyard Marriott. Sam does her own make-up every day, so her wedding make-up was nothing short of stunning! Each bride had their bridal party helping them with all of the details that morning. The Knot Too Shabby Events team arrived to The RiverRoom in the morning and began setting up for their special day. Sara + Sam's wedding had a warm, comforting feel to it. It was intimate and everyone was over joyous to be there. Sara + Sam tied the knot on the deck at The RiverRoom. They had tulle draped on the brick as the arbor. These two were so excited to get married and it's written all over Sara's face! IT was beautiful seeing all of the love and support they had from their friends and family. After saying "I do", Sara + Sam danced their way out while the bridal party followed with some pretty awesome dance moves. Following the ceremony, Sara + Sam took pictures around Downtown Wilmington with their bridal party and families. We kept guests entertained in doors. They had hors d'oeuvres to snack on and yummy drinks to sip while enjoying music from My Wedding DJ during cocktail hour. The tables were decorated with navy linens, lace runners, white lanterns with candles, mason jar floral centerpieces, and candle votives. At each place setting, there was a madlibs card made specially for Sara + Sam. What's funny is that Sam accidentally ordered them with the wrong date but her easy-going attitude let it go and we used them anyways! Instead of table numbers, they used mini chalkboards with song names on them. After cocktail hour, Sara + Sam were introduced as the new Mrs. and Mrs.! They went into their first dance by Lee Brice, "I Don't Dance." After their first dance, dinner began. The DJ would play a song from the chalkboard sign table numbers. When the song was played, the table could then go through the buffet provided by Coastal Catering and Events. Once guests had gone through the buffet, the maids of honor, Lisa and Holly, gave toasts. Sara + Sam had to decide whether to be naughty or nice with their cake cutting. Thankfully, they chose to be nice and no cake was spared. Sara + Sam then took on the dance floor with their friends and family members. To end the night and send the happy couple away, all of their guests lined up outside the steps of The RiverRoom for a sparkler send off. Congrats Sara + Sam. Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day! You know you're a special kind of client if we can go to beer fest together! Click on images below to enlarge. Our Favorite Wedding Moment: We loved watching Sara walk in with all 7 of her "moms." Sara grew up in a very close family with lots of powerful women around her. There was no other way to walk down the aisle than with those who molded her the most. It was so special to watch Sara & Sam be supported by so many great people. Vendors
