Amy + Brendan January Wedding - 1.2.16

9/19/2016

Knot Too Shabby Events was thrilled to work at St. Thomas Preservation Hall for our first wedding of 2016 with Amy + Brendan! Amy + Brendan were so relaxed and had a "go with the flow" attitude about the whole day. We began the day decorating St. Thomas with greenery and candles galore. The lighting was done by High Performance Lighting. They hung Edison lights zig zagging across the ceremony site.  Their ceremony was upstairs on the stage of the main church hall. The brick wall mixed with the large white alcoves were the perfect back drop for their ceremony!

After their ceremony, guests went downstairs to enjoy a nice cocktail hour with refreshments from A Thyme Savor Catering. While guests were being entertained during cocktail hour, the couple and their immediate family took pictures in the gardens at City Club. The Knot Too Shabby Events staff flipped the upstairs of St. Thomas and turned it into a beautiful reception site. We set the tables with white linens, china plates, water goblets, floral centerpieces, candles, and menu cards. Fiore Fine Flowers made small white and green arrangements for each table top. We loved the array of candles around St. Thomas. It gives the venue such a nice touch!

Guests were then invited back upstairs for dinner, dancing and sweet treats. The couple hired their friends, who were an a cappella group, to sing and play various instruments on the balcony throughout the evening. They even play some hits on a playlist once it was time to dance! They were so amazing! Everyone had such a wonderful time talking to friends, eating delicious food, and enjoying fabulous live music. The couple was thrilled with the way their wedding turned out and we were so happy to be a part of it.

Val's WeddingWire Review:
"
Melissa was exactly who we needed to help keep us calm and organized for the wedding events. She knew the questions to ask, the suggestions to make, and how to help us take care of the details - I never could have done it by myself! She was there for the rehearsal and for the wedding day events. Family should deal with family during this time; Melissa dealt with everything else. Thank you Melissa!"

Favorite Wedding Moment:
Seeing Amy right before her "first look" with Brendan. She looked absolutely beautiful and she had an undeniable glow. Months after the wedding, I received the photos of the first look from their Treebird Photography and I see why she was grinning from ear to ear. The photos and the couple are just so perfect!
