Megan + Tyler tied the knot at the historic Brooklyn Arts Center in the Brooklyn Arts District in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Saturday, February 22, 2023. Although this wedding was now over two years ago, the timeless design is one that we still love today. About a year before the wedding, Melissa with Knot Too Shabby Events had a consultation with the newly engaged couple to see if we were a good fit. It's really all about the vibe from the start. They knew they wanted a full-service wedding planner, so choosing someone that they had a strong connection with was their top priority. We knew from the moment we zoomed with Megan and Tyler that they were 'our people'. They were kind, loving, and loyal to each other and knew they wanted to throw one hell of a party. Fast-forward to the wedding day, and we did have one hell of a party! The girls spent the morning getting ready next door at The Manse. For those of you who aren't familiar, this is a great getting-ready area on-site with multiple hair and makeup rooms, and plenty of space for lounging and eating with your crew. Once everyone was dressed and ready to go, Megan and Tyler did a first look in the courtyard. This was such a sweet and intimate moment in the courtyard for them. After they dried their happy tears, they had time to do some wedding party and family photos before freshening up for the ceremony. Y'all should have seen this reveal we did for Megan as she walked down the aisle to her indoor ceremony! The back of the church had romantic draping to create a curtain reveal moment. We worked with DP etc. to design the floor-to-ceiling draping and ensure that it was tied back and able to be unleashed at the desired places. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the adjacent Annex building, delighting in hors d'oeuvres such as mac-n-cheese bites, southwestern ceviche, and fan-favorite chicken and waffles from A Thyme Savor. Sweet sounds from Dockside Strings only added to the ambiance. During most cocktail hours at Brooklyn Arts Center, a little KTSE magic happens -- we flip the space, usually with help from the caterer and florist! The dreamy ceremony set up transformed into an elegant reception, where bouquets and candles were repurposed and tables and chairs were rearranged! We had a chance to reveal the room with the bride before the ceremony. Her reaction says it all! The couple chose to serve their guests a plated dinner, with the choice of crab cakes, short rib, or a vegetarian meal. The entrees were accompanied by delicious garlic mashed potatoes and lemon-parmesan brussels sprouts, perfect to be enjoyed by candlelight and under dreamy twinkle lights. Megan and Tyler shared their first dance as newlyweds to "On My Way To You" by Jennifer Lopez, surrounded by their loved ones. Once the formal dances were done, they kicked off dancing with the "Good Luck Dance", where all couples were invited to join them on the dance floor, each uniquely gifting them an alleged 5 years of good luck in their marriage. For those more interested in desserts, they had quite the assortment from One Belle Bakery. As the night came to a close, everyone lined up outside for a sparkler exit, cheering and wishing the newlyweds good night! Meghan and Tyler ended their special day with a twinkly exit out front of the Brooklyn Arts Center. We are honored to have been an integral part of planning Meghan and Tyler's wedding and couldn't have done it without the support of the amazing vendor team below! Vendors
