Can you believe we're almost halfway through 2017?! With the weather heating up, we're looking forward to more Summer Weddings so we want to bring it back to this August 2016 wedding at the Burgwin Wright House. Meg + Ryan got married at the beautiful St. Mark's Catholic Church on Saturday, August 6, 2016. The skies were clear and the sun was shining bright. We were hired to coordinate their wedding reception, which was held at the Burgwin Wright House. Illuminating Events strung Edison lights across the gardens, Party Suppliers set up the tents, The Pearl and The Petal dropped off flowers, and we worked our magic. The tables were set with navy linens, burlap runners, white plates, with a sleek napkin fold making the tablescape look clean and simple. There were burlap table numbers, chalkboard menus, an array of blue wine bottles with floral arrangements, and burlap candle votives. They had the perfect mix of a Southern rustic wedding, including one of my favorite things - sunflowers. They brighten up everything. Meg kept her theme simple and used the same elements throughout every detail, which made the whole wedding look wonderful and flow nicely. Their seating chart and drink menu were both chalkboard signs designed by a friend of the family. Their yummy candy bar was a sweet touch for all to enjoy. A Thyme Savor catered the hor d'oeuvres and family-style dinner for their wedding. Once guests finished eating, the maid of honor and best man gave toasts. The best man's toast had everyone laughing so hard they were crying. We love when toasters tell stories that everyone can enjoy while still appropriate for everyone to hear. After everyone had a good laugh, Meg + Ryan cut their 3 tier white cake from One Belle Bakery with beautiful sunflowers on it from The Pearl and The Petal! Once the cake was cut, it was time to dance! Meg + Ryan were such a fun and sweet couple. Everyone loved dancing the night away despite the summer heat. CONGRATS Meg + Ryan. Thank you for choosing us to help with your big day. Click on images below to enlarge. Our Favorite Wedding Moment: The couple hired a horse-drawn carriage to whisk them way at the end of the night. Not only was the horse super sweet, but so was the couple. This was the perfect way to end such a romantic evening! Vendors

Sharron + Mike purchased a lovely second home on the Intracoastal Waterway in North Topsail Beach, NC. They completely remodeled and transformed their home into the ultimate wedding oasis. Sharron + Mike got married on July 16, 2016 at their beach house. We were hired for our "full service" planning package. We worked vigorously with Sharron to make sure this wedding was absolutely beautiful, and that it was. Their colors were turquoise, coral and charcoal gray. Not only were the colors coordinated perfectly throughout the wedding, they even matched the interior and exterior of the house! VIP Limo was hired to shuttle guests to their house for the ceremony from a nearby hotel. Once guests arrived, they were directed to the backyard where the ceremony site was set up. There was a stunning floral arbor designed by Eco Chic Blossoms. This was one of my favorite design pieces of the entire year. Illuminating Events strung Edison lights across the backyard providing a "dreamy" touch. Trey Hamlin played guitar while guests were arriving. 10 minutes before the ceremony, guests were asked to take a seat. When Sharron walked down the stairs, everyone was in awe at her pure beauty. Sharron's veil was custom made for her from a designer in Italy and was certainly worth the wait. It was such a special moment sending Sharron down the aisle. We loved seeing her face light up (for the second time) when she saw Mike. The couple chose to do a first look on the beach about an hour before the ceremony with Erin L. Taylor Photography. The love in the air was radiating on such a special day. Following the ceremony, guests gathered around to enjoy cocktail hour. Sharron's friend and local mixologist, Kate, was hired to create mouth-watering drinks. Brooke with Southern Bee Designs made one of the prettiest bar signs ever with little drawings of their adorable signature drinks. A Thyme Savor passed a handful of appetizers for all to enjoy. While guests were enjoying their cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, we completely transformed the yard. We brought out a mix of rectangular and round tables set with charcoal gray linens, turquoise napkins, place settings, white driftwood, candles and wooden boxes with flower arrangements in them. The color pallet, mixed with the view, was absolutely phenomenal. Once the tables were set and everything was in place, Sharron + Mike were introduced as Mr. & Mrs. Riley for the first time. They then went into their first dance! This day was so special for all involved we couldn't help but shed a tear. After dancing, dinner was served! Thyme Savor had an array of amazing bite sized snacks for all to enjoy. As if we hadn't cried enough, Sharron + Mike's maid of honor and best man shared toasts. Following toasts, open dancing began. Active DJ play music as the sun went down and the guests kept dancing all night. Congrats Sharron + Mike! We could not be more happy for you two! Sharron's WeddingWire Review: "I just can't say enough about Melissa and her staff. Everything was absolutely perfect when I meet Melissa she said your wedding day will be sipping champagne and feeling beautiful without anything else to worry about. That's exactly what she delivered . Love you Melissa and Raelin - you made me feel like a princess!!" Click on images below to enlarge. Vendors
